I waited to write this review until I had hiked a few times in these. First, I went a short 1 mile to "break them in" but shockingly, there was no need to break them in! Right out of the box, they felt great! Since the 1 mile went so well, I then went to tougher terrain and did 4 miles. This time I ... Read More

  • Excellent boot!! No need to break them in.

Only 4 stars since I haven't had them long enough to rate longevity. :) I LOVE these boots, they are supportive yet flexible and sooooo comfortable! Wore them only once for a one-mile walk before hiking around many tall (and wet) waterfalls in Iceland - super comfy, lots of room, yet they don't look like clown shoes (boots). They did look like they soaked up some water but my feet never got wet. Worth every penny.
  • Love them

After my first hike in these I immediately went to the Sierra website to see if I could order another pair, but sadly, they were out of my size. Just hiked my first 14er (two in one day) and my feet felt great the whole time. These boots are the bomb. Study soles yet flexible uppers. Love them.
  • Lightweight but sturdy

I haven’t hiked in these yet so I can’t give a meaningful review but they seem surprisingly lightweight but still as structured and supportive as heavier boots I’ve backpacked in. The ankle cutting seems particularly supportive and also comfortable.
  • Very comfortable hiking boots
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Sy from Colorado on Sunday, July 22, 2018
These are the best boots I have ever worn. They’re light, repel water, have great traction and ankle support, and the perfect stiffness in the arch. I hike every weekend in the Rocky Mountains and travel abroad twice a year to hike. I am very pleased with these boots. No issues with sewing at seems as I read in one review.
  • Boxy cut

Tried it on with socks - fits well.

But haven't gone on a hike yet, hence not able to review further

  • “I just received these and I put them on and they seem shug on the sides of my feet, just below the big toe. I dont have a bunion and I'm wondering if I need to go a 1/2 size up. Will increasing the size mean a wider fit in that area? I have rather narrow heels and feet in general...
My thumb width fits at the front of my shoe.... should I order up as well?”
Asked by Nativeglo from California on 6/15/2018 6:19:19 PM
    • I would go for 1/2 size up and should feel a little loose on your toe area. The heel area might feel a bit loose too but not a big deal if you wear thicker hiking socks. Good luck and happy trails.

  • “I usually wear a size 6 in sneakers. Will I have room for extra socks or should I buy a 6.5?”
Asked by Phyllis from New York on 6/12/2018 9:18:16 AM
    • I would recommend buying 6.5 for extra room for hiking socks. I normally wear 8 but I always go for 8.5 for hiking shoes. Sizing up for hiking shoes works well for me. I get enough room for my toes and Smartwool hiking socks especially when you need that extra protection when taking downhill trails (believe me you really need that little extra room!). I have walked 22 miles in Ahnus in a day and no blisters or pain at the end of a long hike. Good luck and happy trails!

    • I would believe so! I usually wear a size 8 in sneakers and bought these boots in the same size and was able to wear wool socks with them!

Asked by Morgan from Virginia on 6/7/2018 5:43:58 PM
    • they were a gift for my daughter she wears an 8 ordered an 8 she said they fit perfect she has regular width feet check out their return policy I think its a great deal on a quality boot and if u can return it its a win win

    • I did not think they were exceptionally wide at all, so not sure if they would work for you. I wear medium width shoes but my foot is on the narrow side and they felt good, just too long.

    • I have fairly wide feet at my pads, and have to always seek shoes that are roomier or I get pain and numbing in that area.
I have found these very comfortable with plenty of width!
