Reviewed by Elk Runner from Utah on Tuesday, September 24, 2013This would be a good boot if you don't have hammer toes. If you are hiking steep up and down it will rub you heels and rub the top of your toes.
Reviewed by Elk Runner from Utah on Tuesday, June 25, 2013what I find interesting is sierra trading wants you to rate a product that you have had for a week. These boots seems to be well built but lets give them 6 months to a year and see how they hold up to hiking trips and archery elk hunting where I put lots of miles on a boot. My previous boot was a Perkfect hiker from cabelas which I really enjoy but they have hike the price up so I decided to try these after researching. I will post a review in 6 months and let you know what I really think.
Reviewed by Rocky from Boulder, CO on Thursday, June 6, 2013This is my third pair of AKU boots. One thing I've learned is that AKU sizes their boots to match your normal shoe size. Usually you have to order a half size up to allow room for hiking socks, or to avoid banging your toes going down hill. My size 11.5 is Euro size 46. I was attracted by the claimed Air8000 breathability in the design. This seems to work, though I've yet to give them an extended workout. The boots are fairly stiff, up a half notch from my Asolo FSN95 boots. The sole does a excellent job gripping typical Colorado granite. Construction quality is excellent.
Reviewed by Paul the Detectorist from S. E. Virginia on Monday, May 20, 2013I was sick when my first pair of AKU boots wore out and the place I usually buy them from stopped carrying them. I tried other brands, exspensive ones too. I allways found myself comparing "the others" to my old AKU's. Its simple, the quality is all there. The stitching in extra places is what makes this the boot to buy. The comfort is excellent and didn"t require any break-in period. I'm in the woods alot and these boots are tough enough to keep my feet protected and dry. I will buy another pair!
Reviewed by NJS from Camano Island, Wa on Thursday, March 14, 2013Very comfortable boot. First pair of AKU. Will purchase again

“How does the sizing run -should I order a half -size up?”
According to our fit models these boots are running true to size, I would suggest ordering a half size up if you are going to be wearing heavy socks.
