broke in quickly and carried me to the top of Rainier

I had been training for a couple of months for a climb of Mount Rainier and had been using borrowed La Sportiva boots (not the nepal or other popular model) in an effort to keep the cost of the trip down. They were heavy though and didn't fit well in the arch.

A fellow climber let me try on his AKU boots 2 weeks before the trip and I was sold. They were comfortable and significantly lighter than the pair I had been training in. I bought them immediately and only got to spend a total of 3 hours in them before the trip. Not normally the smartest of decisions, but I was lucky and escaped without any blisters. They kept me warm and locked into my crampons. For the price, a great deal!! best spent money of the trip.
