My dog really doesn't know when to stop and cool off so this has been a great asset to her play dates!

Verified Buyer Reviewed by rayster from Palm Springs, CA on Monday, July 24, 2017This product, this product produces a slimy, gooey substance when wet. My dog hated wearing it because it was so heavy when wet. I hated it because handling it was messy and gross.
Reviewed by JonH from VA on Saturday, July 15, 2017We followed the manufacturer's directions for soaking after buying 2 of these. One of them burst on the first use of it, smearing gel contents on our dog. The same happened when we used the other for a second time.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by loves big pups from Michigan on Tuesday, July 11, 2017Our dog pretty much ignores it, but at least she tolerates it. We don't walk her in temps above 87F or so, so we haven't put it to a real test. For a 20 minute walk at 85F, it might be helping? She still pants, of course, but maybe she recovers more quickly.
I got the Large for a Boxer, and it fits just right.
I discovered that you really do have to soak it in a little bowl of water for a few minutes so the beads can swell up and get soft. Otherwise it's just damp fabric. It's really easy to use, and it's cute. Our dog has short hair, which I think is ideal for this product. It could still work on medium hair, but if you have a long haired dog, you already know that their fur insulates them from the heat as well as from the cold.
Velcro fastening allows some adjustability. I think it's supposed to hang low, based on the velcro placement, so we set it where the velcro is centered and let it hang a few inches below her collar. She has a thick neck, so it should be fine for a Labrador, but you may need extra fabric/velcro for a dog larger than a Great Dane.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by JonH from VA on Thursday, June 29, 2017We measured our dogs' necks and ordered the appropriate size, but the bandannas are a bit oversized and just barely fit.
The cooling works well, though.
