stiff, yet comfortable

I've used these only once so far for cross-country skiing. They are stiff compared to my old low cut cross-country ski boots, but I couldn't find anything else worth buying in 75mm. Fortunately I like the stiffness and the support, since I tend to twist my ankles. There will be a break in period though for where the boot flexes. I did have to order a half size smaller than I usually do for hiking boots--I think this is because the little extra I need in hiking boots after they get wet and shrink is already accounted for in the bendy toe of 75mm boots. I believe the old description said they boots had a norwegian welt--they do not.
