Consistently Exceptional Quality of Materials, Design and Implementation - i.e. Unequaled CRAFTSMENSHIP

I have long appreciated the stitched-on sole and full leather (no mesh for me) uppers of "traditional", old-school boot construction. I owned a pair of Vasque Hiker II beginning around 1973 and wore those for nearly 30 years. They even survived Geology Field Camp where the sharp-grained metamorphic rocks cut to ribbons other students “boots”, my Vasque took everything the terrain threw at them. I would have owned them even longer had a local cobbler not been a crook taking receipt of the boots for re-soling on a Saturday and closing his doors for good (bankruptcy) the following Monday. I never saw my beloved Vasque boots again. And ever since I had been looking for a pair of boots with like construction and materials but to no avail …. That is until I discovered Alico boots at STP.

I now have three pair of Alico boots: one for heavy back-packing (three soles so far), a second more for day hikes and this recent third pair for work and motorcycle riding. They are true to size; have an adequate for me at least toe box and have not been too hard to break in. In some ways these lighter-weight hiking boots are similar to Vasque Sundowner boots but with a stitch-down lugged sole. And since these are intended for lighter-weight hiking, they are, well, light on the feet.

The bottom line; you will not be displeased buying these boots. And you can own them for years to come if taken care of (as opposed to the glorified tennis shoes most folks are buying theses days). And Sierra Trading Post is, as ALWAYS an excellent on-line business to work with. I can't recommend STP more.
