Heavy Duty! ....a bit too much for me

Great boot for the right foot and application. Extremely sturdy, heavy, stiff, well built, cool looking, old school boots. It just didn't fit my foot so I sent back and went to the Alico Summit heavy hiking which I really like. It was so stiff, I could not lock my heel in despite some nicely recessed speed laces. Maybe with ample break in you could lock your heel in but with my somewhat narrow foot I was not able to. I feel like these boots would take you through any heavy backpacking scenario you threw at them once properly broken in. The only other large drawback is the weight. I think they are 6+ pounds and after I stepped down to the Summits at around 4 pounds there is a big difference. These are also a really cool looking pair of old school hiking boots. Loved the look, hated to retun them for the their looks, but they just didn't fit my feet.

For the right task and person, these would be a great pair of boot.
