5.0 out of 5 stars. How Do They Fit?Reviewed by Tecnica from East Coast on Friday, May 22, 2020The Guides are over-built and made for a wider foot and heel than mine. I used Effax German Leather Balm to break-in my size 10.5 boots, so the fore foot is mobile. They will probably need orthotics. Since they have never been worn and the return period expired over the quarantine, I will put them up on Ebay. Hope they fit your normal American foot. I am better suited to the narrow Italian boots.

4.0 out of 5 stars. I was sent the summit model, not the guideVerified Buyer Reviewed by Aaronjw1 from Texas, Nepal, NY, Myanmar on Wednesday, January 22, 2020I have been wanting to try these boots for about two years now. My last pair of Asolo although comfortable after replacing the insole did not last but 14 months before the sole started coming apart. I inquired about the two year warranty and Asolo will not give this to any boot bought from Sierra, I was bummed out.
I ordered the guides and was sent the green summit apparently because the guide ran out. I liked the feel of the summit but there was a noticeable defect on the right boot, it had more room, like the area had bubbled, around the laces to the ankle. I sent them back.
If the summits were symmetrical I would have kept them. The left boot was everything is should be, solid, it would take me about a month to break in, and fit good on my narrow size 13. They would also need a new insole.
I can’t wait to try the guides. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Don't Size Up!Reviewed by Tecnica from East Coast on Monday, January 20, 2020These boots have a greater interior volume, in contrast to most Italian hiking boots I have owned. I could try a smaller size, but will pass on these.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Best boots everReviewed by Anonymous from BC , Canada on Tuesday, December 10, 2019I am a professional geologist and mineral explorer in BC, Canada. My job takes me through a lot of wild country, carrying rock samples out of the forest in a backpack. You need a good boot for this type of work.
I have never had such a burly, up to the task boot. Scree, talus, open forest, creeks, whatever. If trekking through the wilderness is your thing, buy these boots. The 3/4 steel shank and Vibram sole is great, never felt the points on angular boulders.
Tons of compliments from people on various other crews while in the bush or camp, on both the style and quality of construction. Alico hit the mark with this one. Once broken in, they are extremely comfy. It has full leather liner which is very supple. Oil the inside with mink oil, and use some heavy wax on the outer. They last a long time.
You won't be sorry. -
1.0 out of 5 stars. Wrong boots twice in a rowVerified Buyer Reviewed by Abe from Virginia on Sunday, November 24, 2019I'd like to give an actual review of these boots, but I've been sent the wrong model twice now. I even explained it the first time over the phone and was assured the correct boots would be sent. So I'm giving up.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Wanted to like themVerified Buyer Reviewed by Samson from Missouri on Monday, November 11, 2019my right foot is a hair bigger than my left foot however these boots have a spot in the left foot that is pressing on a bone in my foot. I may try another pair because of the great materials and craftsmanship hopefully the next pair will be more uniform.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Boots!!!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Darren from Idaho on Tuesday, October 22, 2019This is my second pair of this exact boot. I have owned my first pair for 15 years. I saw these on sale and wanted to purchase another pair so I could start breaking them in. They are a sturdy boot that needs some breaking in, but after that they feel and wear excellent. My first pair is still in great condition, but I will now use them more as an outdoor working boot and save these for nicer occasions. They really are an excellent boot. I always wear a size 10 but this time I had to send back the size 10 and order a 10.5. Sierra Trading made the exchange a very simple process!! Thank you for continuing to carry this boot!!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Boot Lover's DreamVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hiker from Virginia on Wednesday, October 2, 2019If you don't like wearing boots to begin with don't buy these boots. Their heavy but the weight is relative to what your used to. I retired from the military where I lived in steel toe boots for most of my adult life and love wearing boots so to me the weight is nothing out of the ordinary and not to be a problem even for hiking long distances. They are true to size with generous toe box and upsizing is not necessasary. I'm a size 12 and I baught a size 12 and have enough room when wearing medium weight socks to put my fingers behind my heel when my foot is all the way forward as much as possible. Don't get caught up on the leather type. Leather is leather and I treated mine with an initial coat of Obenauf's Leather oil before wearing and breaking them in and I think this helped with the stiff toe section because I had no problem breaking them in.
