So I own all kinds of mountaineering boots Lowa experts, Aslo GV , Scarpa, Hanwag, Zamberlan, Mammut, etc... about 20 pair. And I will say i will compare these to my zamberlan Latemar . Now i will just say what are my concerns and you can glean something;
. I wear size 11 in some and 11.5 in others. Since this was my first pair of this brand i took the advise from another reviewer and ordered a 11.5 taking into account they were a very heavy duty boot. I have worn these for a couple of weeks now and a size 11 would have been O.K. as the toe box has room.
Just a side note i usually dont change an order size unless the majority of reviewers comment on this issue or the distributor incerts. Aslo as a side note Amazon is good about including this information if a problem in their description. Now the sole. Not an issue as i put these on and could comfortably walk 20 miles on pavement. I mean they are stiff but smooth. I aslo use the stairs with these no problem. But i aslo have to say that is all i wear night and day are both mountaineering and heavy duty hiking boots. Now the weight . some look at the 6 lbs for the pair as a daunting task. Well my Latemar are about 4 lbs 4oz for the set and i cannot tell really the difference. In conclusion they are in my opinion already to hit the trail out of the box. Very sturdy great ankle support but again they are built like a tank but very comfortable. I will say with my stp discount what a deal!!!
