Well some wouldn't think it, but it can get cold-ish down here in Georgia. My sister from Iowa, while visiting during Christmas, commented on how much more humid it was down here and how much colder it made 30 degrees feel compared to the same temperature in Iowa. I've been wanting a pair of warm... Read More

  • “These are the "Husky"replacements ? I wear a size 12 US, what do I do ?”
Asked by Kyle S from California on 12/20/2016 12:12:52 AM
    • I can' say that I understand the question as I don't know what "Husky"s are. I wear a 10 & 1/2 and they fit pretty true to size. If you are a size 12 order it, but do it quick because they will run out! STP has a great return policy if they are not quite right. These are really nice boots!!

    • Size 12 should be normal fit with medium socks. I ordered 1/2 size large and wear them with Thorlo thick boot socks and have a comfortable loose fit. These are great boots.

    • According to our fit team this item is running true to size. We apologize, but this item is sold out in size 12. We suggest signing up for the My Updates as the best way to monitor incoming products. You will receive email notifications of our newest stock items.

    • Kyle, I ordered my regular size 9.5 and could not get them on with heavy socks. I did manage to get them on in my bare feet. I feel comfortable that I can wear them with thin dress socks until I break them in. I think a 10 would have been a smarter choice for me but, I will manage with these. Pittsburgh only has a few bad days to wear these in. I would go the half size up if I were you. Good Luck

  • “the descrition says genuine lambswool shearling but several reviewers say synthetic. Which is it?”
Asked by jm from new hampshire on 12/3/2016 1:29:14 PM
    • I researched the reviews on STP and didn't find any that complained about synthetic so I don't know where you read that. I didn't look at all 72, but I did look at the lowest ones: 0 single stars; 2 ea double & triple; the rest 4 & 5 stars. Most of the complaints were about fit while every one, even the complainers, just gush about the quality. I'm no shearling expert, but I don't have any reason to doubt their claim of genuine. While I haven't worn them a lot, I can tell you these boots are OUTSTANDING! I say buy a pair now while they're still available, then you still have time to return in case the fit is not quite right. Good luck.

    • Haven't worn them yet. They sit in the closet waiting for winter. The lining seems like lambs wool shearling as for touch and visual exploration. The seem tight I wear a 91/2 and I couldn't fit them on with winter socks. They fit fine in my bare feet though.
The quality of this boot seems great, they are stiff and will probably take some breaking in. Best I can do, good luck.

    • Tough to tell for sure. The backing seems like sheep skin, but the fur feels synthetic and seems softer and less dense than real lambswool. Overall relatively nice boots. Heavy though

    • I checked the lining closely and believe it to be genuine lambswool shearling. It is very plush and trimmed to a consistent depth. When inspecting the edge you can see the shearling leather hide.

  • “I wear an 11D in Red Wing and other similar US made boots, would size 11 be the right size in these boots?”
Asked by A Lindsay from Seoul, Korea on 5/10/2016 11:09:27 AM
    • I wear 9.5 in all types of shoes and boots (Georgia, Justin, John Deere, Frye, etc.) and the 9.5 fit me perfectly so I think these are true-to-size.

    • I ordered an 11 which is my normal Red Wing, Wolverine size and it felt a little short especially on my right foot. I might could have gotten by, but I don't like to feel like my toes are crowding the toe cap. Sized up to 11 1/2 and felt better, maybe a little roomy in instep, but more comfortable length. Hope this helps.

Asked by Catherine from michigan on 2/27/2015 5:28:00 PM
    • According to the product overview/specs above: Weight (pair): 5 lb. 4 oz. The weight for a single boot would be just over 2.5 lbs.

  • “Would anyone at STP (or anyone else) be willing to measure a size 13 North Cape Wellington boot across the sole at the widest point? I'm wondering how they measure compared to my Alico Summits. Thank you very much.”
Asked by Gadget guy from Md. on 2/17/2014 5:04:57 PM
    • I don't have 13s but...I have a pr of 9.5 and size 10 for real cold wthr. Thicker Sox. That said, I think the width is pretty close to the summit last. If you want to fit extra thick Sox go up one half size.y
