Great Boots for Hardcore Mountaineering!

You can't go wrong with this style boot for spring/summer mountaineering! Yes, the boot will take you sometime to break in, but once broken in you will have a boot that literally fits like a slipper. I have owned about 5 pairs of the "Old School" boots. They literally mold to your feet and will be your best friend for every mountain trip there after.

I am quite upset that so many mountain stores in the U.S. have stopped selling old quality boots like this. Seriously, try climbing with some new style boots made of soft leather and plastic, they will be ripped apart after your trip... and then you need to buy a new pair for next year.

The only negativity about this Alico boot is that it's missing a lace lock on around the ankle. Typically, boots with that much ankle support will have 3 lace locks. This is why I gave it only 4 stars.

PS: Never compare these to a Danner, Danner's are not old school mountain boots. Other brands to check out: Gronell's Stelvio & Massif, also Meindl's "Super Perfect" (Only available in europe)
