Quality Boot

Right now I am wearing these in my office trying to break them in. I knew before purchasing that the break in time would be substantial but I am hoping the lifetime of these boots will also be substantial. I will be using these boots mostly in the Adirondaks, I chose not to go with a gore tex boot and instead wear a waterproof overboot for winter climbing. These are bomber and are exactly what I hoped they would be. I am OK with the weight but it would be the one thing that some may object too. These are heavy boots for climbing but as long as you train with them first you'll be OK. I recommend using mink oil or similar waterproofing/conditioning agent. Even though the perwanger recommendations are against it. I noticed that the boot sucked it up fast and made the break in more comfortable, the thick leather immediately became more supple after using the mink oil. I am climbing the Grand Teton in the summer and will bring these along. I like the leather lining too. Put Super Feet in them as others recommend and you'll be happier. Overall I recommend them highly.
