Treatment Instructions

Bought mine in '95 and they're still great. Wipe/rinse off mud while still wet. Stuff with newspaper to dry quicker (change out regularly). Only air dry indoors, no artificial heat, fire, or direct sunlight. Annual treatment: never scrub leather with anything you wouldn't use on your skin. I recommend dish detergent with a shaving brush for the outside and a washcloth or sponge for the inside. Lightly soap the inside to remove sweat salts, remove soap thoroughly but try not to saturate the leather with water. Same for the exterior. Dry 24 to 48 hours. Apply Lexol conditioner inside and out, dry 24 to 48 hours. Apply Nikwax waterproofing wax (in the tube) on the outside by rubbing in with your fingers. Let dry overnight. I use McNett "stitch lock" glue on all stitching while brand new, clean and dry. Trust me.
