Good reason only Sierra has these.

There is a good reason only Sierra Trading Post carries these boots. A good boot should break in after 100 miles of normal walking. I have a pair of Swiss military boots (made by Bally of Switzerland), that broke in within this time period and never hurt my feet the way these do. Even though the sizing is as good as my Swiss boots, the place that continually hurts my feet (even after healing) is the back of the heel / bottom of the Achillies tendon. I think these boots may be rejects, due to the fact, that while the interior is all smooth (and comfortable) leather, the back spine has rough out leather. I believe this is causing the problem (rubbing) in this prticular area only, and hence the continual pain /bisters in this area. In short, very disappointing after spending this kind of money. They are well made old school leather boots, but unfortunately, nowhere near as good, as my Swiss military boots as (even with blisters from the Alico's) I could still wear the Swiss boots comfortably. The Alico website shows the current version of this boot, which not only looks nicer, but appears to be properly constructed. I would love to return these to Sierra, but will write Alico as to why this is happening. As such, I could not in good conscience recommend these boots to anyone for the kind of money that is being asked. For the money there are far better alternatives. Sierra Trading Post processed and shipped in a very timely matter. It's a shame they don't better research the products they sell.
