I live in the mountains and work in some of the harshest terrain in the United States. Boots are vital to my survival and ability to conduct business in the extremes of the mountains. Poor footwear can lead to disaster and life threatening situations. I put my boots on Monday and sometimes don't take them off until Wednesday...I demand a great boot. I look for the highest quality boots that I can afford and these boots are perfect! I can't believe the fit and finish, obvious sturdiness and "to hell and back" manufacture of these boots. They are stiff to make the cross slopes easier to take, and the steep slopes stand like stairs. The ankle support locks the foot in place and creates a cradle for the entire foot. A word of advise...These boots are not for beginners! They REQUIRE break-in. You have to respect the process of breaking-in and how it works to create a marriage of boot and foot. These boots, provided they are properly fit and broken-in, will do just that. I can only imagine the discomfort if someone attempts to take these boots out of the box and hit the grades! Ouch!
I would not only recommend them to a friend but help them raise the money to get a pair or two, even though I doubt a person would ever need any more than one pair!
