Heavy Duty

This boot reminds me of the Kastinger's I purchased in Scotland in 1973-virtually indestructible and stiff. It feels like a downhill ski boot, and, like my old Kastinger's will doubtless last forever--the leather doesn't even wrinkle or crease when you use them and probably won't for the forseeable future. For my feet, which are pretty battered up, a half size bigger seems to be best, as they are a narrow fit.You can adjust the fit by experimenting with the lacing, so that the ankle collar, which I find is high and confining, can be loosened enough to permit a good stride. All in all, these boots are made to last, and the price is attractive.
  • Best Uses: Cold Weather, Harsh Terrain, Heavy Loads, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions
  • Cons: Ankle collar is confining
  • Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational
  • Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable, Warm, Water Resistant
  • Sizing: Feels half size too small
