“hi||just got my summit boots from STP,and was wondering if the manufacturer's website which claims it to be as such: ||"The SUMMIT is made from one-piece oil-tanned waterproof full grain and is designed for tough terrain and rugged wear. The outsole is a Vibram Montagna Block sole and is easily replaceable due to the ideal stitch construction." ||My question is that, is the "summit boot by alico" truly "waterproof"? ||This was the reference url http://www.alicosport.it/paginasummit.htm||thanks||p.s. was thinking of treating my summit boots with leather waterproofing...do I still need to treat it for waterproofing? Please advice, thanks again. BTW...I love the fit and feel of these boots!”
These boots are not waterproof. Since they are leather they will be water resistant, and you can apply a waterproof agent to them.
I have to treat mine twice a year for every day wear. With treatment, I find them better than any gore-tex boots I have had.
