Nice leather boots.. but not HEAVY duty.

This is a wonderful pair of boots.. seem to fit right out of the box.. expected painful break in but only noticed a few small tight points. When I ordered these I expected them to be heavier duty than they are.. These boots are not for COLD and snow.. they have excellent traction but no insulation and even with the addition of boot socks, expect to loose toes in below freezing weather.. I have owned 3 previous pairs of Italian full grain leather boots and one pair of Swiss and these are not as heavily constructed as the others. Would not be afraid to take them on an excursion but would not expect the softer oiled leather to last as long. I know my boots.. I am a person who, unless going to church, only wears leather boots.. These are well constructed, would probably last an average person a lifetime.. but I don't expect to see more than a year or 2 out of them. In conclusion.. Good waterproof medium duty boot for every day and backpacking use.. not too good for cold weather, probably wear through them quick.. time will tell
