Nothing equals leather!

I took a gamble on ordering such critical footwear online, but the dealflyer price negated the risk. Thank you to previous reviewers for their helpful hints! I have a somewhat wide, high-arched, size 11, and elected to order the 10 1/2 W ... with perfect results.
The rigid ankle will make my aging and dubious ankle joints happy, the leather is thick and reasonably stiff, and good, old Vibram soles are the only way to go. The sole is very securely stitched and the stiching waterproofed. Take the time to waterproof the boot with Dubbin/mink oil/Sno-seal, then do it again... and again. They will be totally waterproof. Listen to the other reviewers, and throw out the insole before even attempting to break them in! Get a quality breathable one.
I particularly like the tongue, which is thin and flexible and has two thick leather protective plates stitched to the face. This removes all possibility of chafing on the top of the foot from folded tongue material.
