a little stiff for me

I do a lot of hiking and some rock climbing in the Sierra as they are in my backyard; I take some long-distance treks and often go off trail.
These guys are really well made -that's why I bought them 'cause they were like boots I had years ago, like Raichle. These babies are stiff and haven't softened at all, plus they are heavy.
Perfect for snowshoeing with but on long treks, I want a tad more comfort.
