Great Protection!

I just retired a pair of Cresta Hiker boots that have trekked through numerous Arkansas State Parks and National Parks including the Sierra Nevada's. Those boots performed beyond my expectations and was considering another pair. When I saw the Alico Summit boots I noticed their shape was similar to the Cresta Hiker but they appeared a little heftier. Just like you I read all the reviews and quickly became intrigued with the positive comments and thought what the heck! If I don't like the boot Sierra Trading has always been good about returns.
I can tell you there were a couple of adjustments that I needed to make once I tried them on the first time. The adjustments were not out of the ordinary as they are the same adjustments I made with my previous pair of boots. The boots were a bit too roomy so I added the Green Super Feet inserts over the existing inserts. Other than that, silk socks under the wool socks did the trick. The foot bed is incredibly roomy (all the toes have room to roam) and no blisters after a two week break in. The only other thing I intend to do is condition the leather with Quality Leather Oil prior to heading for the Teton's in Yellowstone.
The boots are a little heavier than other choices but I prefer the protection they offer rather than a little lighter boot. Good Hiking!
