Alico Summit Backpacking Hiking Boots
Reviewed by . from Arizona on Monday, November 18, 2013
I bought these boots for heavy backpacking in the Southwest desert of Arizona. With smartwool socks and liners my feet stay comfortable in temps so far in the mid 80's while hiking. Extremely rugged boot. Took only about 10 miles of hiking to break boots in. They are very comfortable. Yes, they are heavy but your lower leg bone will snap in half before you roll an ankle. They provide incredible support. I often bushwack and these have worked out very well going through cactus and jagged lava rock. Steep inclines and declines through both and the boots have done very well. They are comfortable enough to wear as an everyday boot as well. With a little brushing off and mink oil they return to a very classy look that's good enough to wear to church on Sunday. These boots probably aren't for the timid or the weak. Probably aren't going to be too comfortable in high humidity or high temperatures, but so far have been comfortable for me in the mid 80's in the desert. These are probably one of the best boots you could get for heavy backpacking for the support and durability.
