(I don't know what STP lists these as closeout, I have been buying them for more than 10 years. If they really plan to close them out, I better buy a few pair)

These boots are built to be sturdy. The are heavy but they last. I used Summits for several years until about 2011. I then switched to Asolo because they were lighter weight (but the Asolos never fit as well as well worn Summit and Asolos never last as long). Recently I have gone back to the Summit because once they are broken in and contoured to your foot, nothing fits better. You can resole but by the time I need a new sole, sweat has ruined the lining but this takes a lot and I mean a lot of hiking.
