there are better boots for wet conditions, better H.D. boots, and better specific boots, I have about 20pr hiking, mountaineering boots, limmer, scarpa,la eportiva, garmont, vasque, asolo, etc.and these are very good as a all around hiking/backing boot with up to med loads. I am retired and I walk 5 to 8 miles 5 days a week plus trips once a month
