Extraordinary Boot!

I've been 4-season backpacking for the better part of 20 years. My last two pairs of boots (Scarpa/Solomon) performed admirably but eventually fell apart because the "glued" soles dried up. Believe me there's nothing more frustrating than boots that can't perform in the middle of no-where. This time I decided to buy a "stitched" sole boot and researched the Zamberlan 651 Cervino GT NW, the Limmer's "Standard" and the Alico Tahoe. When I compared the three they all seemed similar except for price. So I took a chance and purchased the Alico Tahoe's from Sierra Trading Post who I have been doing business with for what now seems like a life time. Did I ever make the right choice! These boots scream quality and performance in every sense. If you like durable, old school, high quality leather boots that give immediate comfort from the moment you put them on, then this is the boot for you. Stability and support are non issues but to be truthful, I have not yet worn them in rain or light snow. But because the soles are made with Vibram I'm guessing they will do just fine. One word of caution. If you're planning on doing any extensive hiking break the boots in first and consider ordering a half size larger to compensate for a thick wool sock. You can thank me later. Happy trails to all, and thank you Sierra for the colossal savings!
