Boots are great [...]

I purchased these boots for daily wear. I had previously wore work boots. I'd wear them as more of a dress boot for a while and then turn them over for more of a work application. I just got these so it's hard to say how they will hold up under the conditions in which I use them here on a mini-farm. Initially they are quite comfortable. They are a little stiff around the ankle from what I'm use to and the sole is as well (Thicker/luggy sole than my work boots). But perhaps they'll loosen up later. The inside is lined with a soft comfortable leather, but I worry a little about longevity with this. But the overall craftmanship is amazing. Very classy, traditional, and old world. And I think they look more professional and serious without all the flashy trashy nonsense seen on most hiking boots today. My only real complaint is a mild one; they are difficult to lace. They pull tight easily but then when you go to rap them around the hooks the first set is kind of far down toward the ankle. I missed them the first time lacing them. I'll just have to get use to reaching down further to get them. But the lace doesn't seem to sit well in the hook. It's wider and not as deep as the two top ones. It makes it feel as though it's getting hung up and will later slip in and loosen the boot up. But this hasn't happened yet. With the overall quality and well thought out design I'm figuring they know what they are doing and that these things are for a reason. It does already seem that the hooks that are difficult to reach pull the boot tight around the ankle and thus support better.I bought these for the long run and hope they hold up for years of resoling. They seem to be the closest thing to an old fashioned traditional quality hiking boot. I do have issues with the width though. I usually wear a 10D in a work boot and had ordered the medium width. Some reviews talked about them running a little narrow, others said they were accurate, and yet others said they run a little wide. I guess everyone's feet are different, but this is a little confusing. [...]Overall I'm happy with them as a casual dress boot. They look cool and are comfortable. We'll see about their longevity later. Until then I'd easily recommend them.
