My second pair

I use my Alico Tahoes for a variety of backpack trips (on- and off-trail) in northern AZ and southern UT. Best feature: very grippy soles, which give me needed confidence and security on high-exposure slickrock routes. My first pair of soles lasted only four years; maybe that's the flip side of their great traction. Unfortunately I wore them down too far for resoling. I'll be smarter about that on my second pair. Overall, this all-leather boot is very supportive and comfortable once broken in (which takes a while). The advantage of a leather boot, rather than a leather/fabric type is that it will eventually conform to your foot. This is especially important for those of us with "non-standard" feet (wide forefoot, high arch, narrow heel in my case). Properly cared for they should last for many years and many resolings.
