classic quality

These are classic, well made, all leather hiking boots, something that has become really hard to find at a reasonable price. They are far more durable than glued up multi-panel boots that dominate the market today. I think all leather boots have fallen out of favor because you have to water-proof them yourself (not a big deal really) and they do require a break in period before they're really comfortable. But those are easy trade-offs for such quality boots that are very versatile.

The Tahoe would probably be fine for backpacking but I have Alico's next level up (even heavier leather and with a leather liner) for backpacking use as I'm often off trail on sharp granite. I wear the Tahoe's everyday because I have weak ankles from multiple sprains. They look good enough (I polish them occasionally) that I am able to wear them with chinos and a tie and shirt to work. And they're great for day hiking and walks in the neighborhood.
