Great Boot

I only wear leather hiking boots because they last. I just had to toss a pair I've had for over 20 years and it broke my heart. I have another pair that are over 40 years old and I wear them around the yard doing chores. I wanted boots that were substantial and could be resoled...this fit the bill.
I've had these now between one and two years. I had them on hikes, through snow, and on trail as well as off. So far, they're great. They are not light weight hikers so you'll have to get into shape. First time I took them out I hadn't been out for awhile and my legs got tired. Not bone tired but more tired than usual and that is because of the weight. Once I had them out a few times I got used to them and they've been fine,
The tongue is a little short and caused me some concern early on but that has worked out as has the "shorter than I'm used to" padding around the top. I have always cleaned and mink oiled my boots every year so I did the same here. I especially slathered on the mink oil on the stitching around the soles. So far, I've waded a few streams and gotten them in some very wet snow and they've stayed dry.
These are super duty, heavy weight boots designed for the long haul. I'm looking forward to many years of dry hiking.
