I got the backcountry and these during a good sale. I wanted a pair of mid weight boots for light hiking and camping. These are definitely lighter than the summit version, with a much thinner sole and less lacing hardware. Overall the Tahoe boot is taking a bit longer to break in then the backcountry boot. The Tahoe is comfortable and should last for quite a few years. Over all happy so far.
