Excellent boot

I wanted a mid-weight boot for long weekend backpacking trips and getting around in the winters in WI. I liked the price, old school leather, and the wide option. With essentially no break-in, I completed a 20 mile, 2 1/2 day trip with my 11 year old son in the porcupine mountains, MI. I don't have the best knees / ankles so I wanted to make sure I had minimized risk of twisting an ankle. They performed as expected -- very stable, sturdy, and very comfortable. I tend to be more old school (example, using a 20 year + exterior frame pack) and this boot suits my style. I recommend augmenting with some inserts and treating with Manchester leather food. I can see these boots lasting me a long time. I am very pleased with my purchase. Thank you for the helpful reviews on this site.
