Well built but could use a better lacing system

First, let me address boot size. I wear a 10.5 Asolo but I found the 10.5 Alico to be too big. I dropped down to a 10 and it fits pretty well. I wish it was more snug since I expect the leather to stretch. However, I did not feel comfortable dropping all the way to a 9.5 so I just lace them up tightly. Which, brings me to my only complaint: The lacing system on these boots leave something to be desired. It is hard to get the laces tight since they slide right back after you pull them up. I will probably change laces to something less slick.

Compared to my Asolos, I love these boots. Don't get me wrong my Asolos are great but it has two major weakness: sweat-tex and the soles wear out too fast (and are not replaceable). The Alicos address both these problems.

One other thing, sole stiffness, the Alicos are not quite as stiff as the Asolos. It is a matter of preference but for my feet, stiffer is better.
