True to size lengthwise, but a lot of room in the instep. They required thick socks and insoles to take up that room. Pretty stiff to start, but the break-in progressed quickly. The sole is quite rigid, so they will be good for rough terrain, but I'm not sure how they would do as everyday walkers. Lacing and gusseted tongue are well-designed.
