Solid Boot

First off I marked "true to size" but it is really about a quarter size big. So just get your stadard size and replace the junk footbed that comes with it. I wore this boot pretty much everyday for a week to break it in. Used three coats of Sno-Seal on them as well. Boots did fine on a snowy slippery seven mile hike on the AT in Virginia after a week of break-in. I only had one minror hot spot on a foot that I always have problems with, so it wasn't suprising. A little duct-tape and I was fine. Had to cross a stream twice and experienced a pin drop of water and that was it. The boots are exceptional quality and very ruggedly built, very similar to the old Italian Sundowners. I replaced the insole that came with the boot with a heat moldable footbed. The fit was perfect with Smartwool Trekking socks. My only gripe about the boot other than the insole is that I really wish that this boot had the leather lining like the Summit rather than the Dri-Lex lining. That one inprovement would make this boot perfect in my opinion. This boot is a solid 5 out of 5 boot for me and a killer value at [$]
