There are some noticeable pressure points in these boots which come through even with thick boot socks. This is common with most heavier boots designed in traditional ways. With time, they become more comfortable - usually mid way through their life you don't want to take them off. It is probably best to hike shorter less aggressive trails first to allow for some break in.
