Nice Boot!

I have hiked about 30 miles so far with these boots in the Blue Ridge Mountains. (Up and down trails, not too much along the flatter Appalachian Trail.) I have used lighter weight, nylon style boots in the past. I prefer these, although they are certainly heavier and the lack of arch support was a problem at first. I have corrected that with aftermarket inserts. Overall, I like the boots. They are not very flexible, but that is actually what I was looking for in the trails I hike. They are very stable and provide great protection to the feet against rocks, although the tongue system in the boot does tend to let in quite a bit of debris. Maybe I just haven't figured out the optimum lacing. At any rate, you can hardly go wrong with these boots. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat, even with the few drawbacks.
