I work as an arborist and we are definitely a bit tough on gear... boots included. I climb with spurs and without spurs using rope. They feel good in my spurs, my foot only having a bar about 1.5 inches wide to stand on, and it doesnt hurt my instep. Climbing without spurs, we rely heavily on friction while walking up a stem and pulling yourself up a rope. They do really well considering that the tree is usually wet (I live in western WA). Ive had them for about 6 months and they are holding up really well. I love the rubber rand. Its really helps keep the boots in good shape. I recommend these to all my fellow tree workers looking for new boots!
