Perfect size for a laptop (up to 17") and a few extra things. I love that you can use it either as a backpack or a shoulder bag. The only downside is that the backpack straps don't unlatch; they need to be held to the sides to get things in and out of the main pack compartment. More helpful pockets than what are shown in the description.

I was looking for a replacement for an old Mountainsmith pack I had for years. Although this isn't a 'technical' bag it is the perfect size for a day hike, an overnight somewhere, or taking on a plane. It has all kinds of pockets and wears nicely on your back. I have a small frame ( 5' 3" 110 lbs) and it fits well. I love the cinch cord to keep everything inside and safe.

The picture doesn't do this pack justice as it has two front zippered pockets, an inside padded area w/ drawstring for laptop and main bag area along w/ a small zippered pocket for little stuff like keys. Love that I can carry this as a shoulder bag too. If you are going to a place that doesn't allow backpacks, simply turn the straps towards you and use as the shoulder bag. It's quite well made and holds a lot of stuff. The interior is light colored so you can easily grab what's inside. The 2 side pockets for water bottles are open and too small to fit most water bottles. I find it handy to slip my phone into for a second while unlocking the car or paying for groceries or whatever activity interrupts phone use. I just wouldn't leave the phone in there for travel, as it is open. I find the side pockets also hold a small notebook. Other than those uses, I didn't find those pockets useful--wish they had been made slightly bigger and had a flap w/ velcro or drawstring closure but that's a minor detail that didn't detract from the awesomeness of this pack.

Stylish and functional. I use this as a professional work bag. I didn't not want a bulky bag. Way more pockets than the description shared -- makes me love it more.

I purchased the bag to use during the day for an extended stay over seas. It was exact ally what I expected. It is small and versatile. I checked it out on YouTube so I knew what I was getting.

I bought this bag as a replacement for my smaller Osprey Daylite backpack, which I had been using for commuting. The Hikari fits my 15" MacBook Pro no problem and I love that it easily transforms from a backpack into a tote. Super convenient when I finish my walk and get on the train. I got the Mayan Blue, which is a beautiful royal blue, almost purple. Couldn't be happier!
