My brother and I have had several tents in the past 35 years of camping and back country travel. This is a great car camping tent. We just got back from Utah and went through a deluge of rain and 30 mph winds. This tent performed like a champ.
We camped by a river one night and the mosquitoes wante... Read More

Absolutely, positively, hands-down, without a doubt the perfect family tent! Large, yet light-weight.

Excellent ventilation. Spacious enough for two adults, two kids, bed rolls, and an 85lb lab. EASY set up (the pole system appears odd at first, but is very intuitive after your first set up). Both vestibules offer great, down-to-the-ground, coverage to protect packs and boots from the elements.

Really like the earthtone colors. None of those silly, sky blue, nonsense colors that were flooding the market a few years back.

Too bad it's not American made (manufacturers take note!), or it would be 5 stars for me.

I waited to rate this until we have used it all summer long! I would buy this tent again in a heart beat! It is roomy, with the one end a little higher there is plenty of room for 2 adults (5-1/2 feet & 6 feet tall) and an 8 year old easily. They fly design vents very well and in a torrential downpour we had ZERO water in our tent, many puddles outside though!

I was looking for a tent that didn't require bending over to get into but was still fairly lightweight and easy to set up for one person. I have a bad back so crawling in and out of low tents really takes the fun out of camping. After three months of searching I found this tent. A very interesting design. Tall in the front but slopes down. Perfect for what I wanted. I didn't want to be setting up a huge tent that wouldn't stand up to strong wind and was impossible for one person to handle. It was easy to set up, fairly intuitive after looking at the directions. Really a great design. Large enough but doesn't feel huge. Need a ground tarp to protect floor of tent but I have always used ground tarps to extend the life of my tents.

  • “Is this the same as the Alps Aztek model?”
Asked by Uhler from CO on 8/25/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • A few things are different, but it is almost the exact same tent. Thanks for asking and have a great day

  • “Does this tent come with tent stakes? If so how many? Thanks.”
Asked by Destroyah from Los Angeles on 8/11/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • It comes with 9 aluminum stakes that are about six inches long. I purchased a bag of longer plastic stakes as a "just in case" precaution.

  • “One review (Camper/Boater/Traveler) says that the back door unzips all the way down to the floor. Could this be a potential leak point in a heavy rain or puddled water? Can someone who owns the tent explain this a little more? I am visualizing zippers that go all the way down to the ground-level seam.||Thanks.”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 8/14/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • The zipper has been designed to avoid any leakage. There are no risks of tracking in puddles or rain.

  • “Does the big front screen opening have an inner zippable inner flap to close the view into the tent off?”
Asked by Toadspotter from KC on 6/27/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • No, you can close the vestibule of the rain fly off to do that though.
Answered on 7/8/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Contrary to the first answer in the negative, the Omega 4 I just received last week DOES have a front door privacy screen. I can be lowered as shown in the picture or raised for privacy (not shown) via dual # 8 zippers running in tandem.||There are other small differences versus the pictures shown so I suspect the currently shipping Omega 4 tents are from different stock (e.g. there are no poles down the middle of the sides as shown, just the side top poles to link & stabilize the front and back inverted-U pole loops, so expect minor differences versus the pictures and written description.
