Comfortable but a bit heavy for backpack

This pad is great. It is very comfortable, easy to roll up and the non-skid bottom is helpful. Its comfortable enough that I would use it for car camping instead of an air mattress. I think it would be fine for relatively short hikes too. That said, I found it to be too heavy for a recent backpacking trip in the Rockys--it made me wish I had a Big Agnes or Pacific Outdoor insulated air mattress type pad to achieve the same comfort for less than 25 ounces.
