does the jobVerified Buyer Reviewed by Sierrafan from PA on Friday, June 1, 2018A little stiff at first but comfortable. Not as cushioned as some of my other Altra's but no pressure points or problems. Nice lightweight shoe, close to minimalist in padding. but Alta's padded shoes are their weak point, so it's all good. Wouild re-purchase. True to size. Width is fine and wide toe box, as with all Altra's, is a bonus.
I just like Altras.Verified Buyer Reviewed by LouLouLaLa from Pennsylvania on Tuesday, May 29, 2018I'm more of a walker than a runner (these days) and I've decided that I really like Altra's "zero drop" platform (if you're not familiar with it, your heel is going to be - and feel - lower than it would be in a standard running shoe) and their nice wide toe box. I purchase a size 8 in Altras when I purchase 7.5 in Brooks / Saucony / Asics. I believe I have a high arch and an average to wide fore-foot. I've found it nice to allow my toes plenty of spread and wiggle room. The black is cute, believe it or not...but I'm past being concerned about that. If it hides the dirt from my daily-dirt-road-dog-walks, I'm happy. If you've considered minimalist running (or walking) shoes, but don't want to throw a bunch of money away if you end up hating them, Sierra's prices are incredibly competitive. This might be the time to give this style a chance.
Run smallReviewed by Hazel from Oregon on Sunday, May 27, 2018I wear a 9 in other Altra styles, but these are way too short in that size. I'm afraid to reorder as I don't know whether I'd need a 9.5 or maybe even a 10 to get them long enough. I recommend that you size up if you order these.
too narrow near toesVerified Buyer Reviewed by me from NYC on Tuesday, May 22, 2018Cons:
Altra One shoes are supposed to have a lot of room around the toe box. I'd tried on the Altra One V2 at my local REI, and they were almost 'too' roomy around the toes. I thought these would be similar, but no. The V3 shoes have a significantly narrower toe box. My feet aren't 'that' wide (I never buy/wear 'wide' shoes), and so this would've been fine, but the shoes are also too shallow. After wearing these for 5 minutes (With thin socks), I had these deep imprints from the laces on top of my feet. I imagine that if I tried to run in these, I'd have a lot of pain from that.
If you have a "low volume" foot and don't need a particularly wide toe box, then these are good. I like the zero-drop and the overall feel of the shoe.
wide toe box, perfect for narrow footReviewed by theresa from wisconsin on Thursday, May 3, 2018Despite the wide toe box, the shoe offers fabulous support and space for my narrow feet. They are much cuter in person, pictures make them look less than attractive. Highly recommend them! True to size.
