Reviewed by Reba8000 from Chicago, IL on Sunday, March 1, 2015These have a higher wedge heel than I was anticipating...it feels like I'm walking in heels, and the front of my hips are quite sore after a 20 minute walk. Plus, the base of the heel is very narrow, so these are not good for navigating snow and ice -- I need a wider, more stable heel. Lastly, my feel naturally pronate in, and these boots do nothing to keep my ankle upright -- I have an orthodic and a padded insole in them, and my ankles are still rolling in. I wore them around the apartment for quite awhile, and I thought they'd work, but out in the real snow and ice, I regret keeping these, and it's too late to return them. On the upside, they feel warm and waterproof.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Joss from New York City on Monday, February 16, 2015Light weight and easy to get in and out, keeps feet dry for sure. BUT one size too big. I bought a size 10 and thought it would be true to size but could have used a 9.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by owlgrabber from Oregon on Sunday, December 21, 2014I've been shopping for "snow" boots because here in temperate Western Oregon, we actually had 2 snow storms last year and I had nothing to put on my feet to get to the gate -- and nothing to shovel with either. I use something that looks like a snow shovel to get the moss off the drive. So these are back-up boots in case that happens again. I have trouble buying boots because I have a very high instep but these have a nice zipper right down the side so I can actually get my foot in there quite easily. Also, this is a very wet area in the winter, so I needed something waterproof. My balance is not great so I needed something not too heavy -- as much as I admire Kamiks and Sorels, they would be overkill for this climate.
I think I found the perfect item in this purchase. The only neg is that there's not enough arch support inside, but I can fix that easily with one of my usual inserts. Now... I really hope I don't have to wear them :>)))
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Frozen Dog Walker from Chicago on Wednesday, November 19, 2014I've had a chance to test out my new boots for the past week- it's been frigid here in Chicago! These keep my feet warm and dry, but have zero arch support, so I need to get some inserts. The other odd problem I'm having with these (which does not happen with my other 2 pair of snow boots) is that the lining fleece grabs the knit of my winter socks and pulls them down so they bunch up under my feet every time I wear them- weird!
