Warm, lightweight, and minimal

The Cerium LT is an exceptionally functional jacket. If you're in need of a packable, lightweight, no-frills down jacket that skips the bells and whistles yet is still elegantly tailored, this is the one for you. The warmth to weight/bulk ratio is superb, you'd be hard pressed to find better. For a lightweight down jacket, this one is a furnace! I spent a week in Iceland in November and there were times I was wearing only a Patagonia silklight base later under the coat, in the snow, and with complete comfort.

This jacket is designed to be as light as possible. Therefore, some features that you might be accustomed to are not there. Two big examples:
- There is not chest zipper pocket. However, the lower left/right hand pockets have zippers, are roomy, and have extra down insulation for your hands when they need warming up.
- There is no adjustable* waist draw string: This is kind of a bummer. But surprisingly in my use of the jacket I have not missed this feature. The jacket is just long enough to cover that gap between trouser and top layer. No undated updraft here. There is a minimalist elastic line in the bottom that keeps enough tension on your waist to prevent lost warmth.

The hood on this jacket is a thing of beauty. Extra insulation, adjustable elastic line, and perfect cut for keeping your dome warm.

I used this coat in some serious in climate weather. With a Pro-Shell over it, the loft was never lost, even with the occasional moister and drops getting to the area around the neck. I'm even wearing it right now in my apt because I refuse to turn on the heat. Don't need it with this coat!
