Great boots, heavy duty

Bought these for high/back country elk hunting this fall. They're serious, heavy-duty boots, so they're not as comfortable as a trail shoe, and it will take some time to break them in. But if it's what you need, you can't go wrong with these. (I've owned many Asolo boots and have yet to be disappointed.) Stiff "rocker sole" feel to them (may take some getting used to) and good ankle support. Have put them to the test on wet muddy trails and in snow and they're very waterproof. They're not insulated, so might not be the best choice for late-season hiking and hunting. They're also low enough that you might want to consider a pair of gaiters if there's a chance of stream crossings, deep mud, risk of snow, etc.
