Solid Backpacking Boot

I bought these after great success with the Asolo Fugitive. Strong mid-sole, good for uneven ground with a heavy pack. Water-proof extraorinare.
The Brajura actually has more aggressive tread and a rubber band around the entire bottom of the shoe. I love this feature, I'm forever banging my boots on
the edge of rocks and such. That extra protection is huge.
I worried about the height as I thought it might be uncomfortable on my ankle. This is not the case. They are soft and supple around the top. However you will want to wear more than just a thin cotton sock. At least mid-weight wool.
Plenty of room in these bad boys, length and width. Bigger than the Fugitive, plenty of room for heavy-weight socks if need be.
I haven't tried them on the trail yet, don't know about durability. I expect they'll hold up well, judging by the Fugitive.
I got them on sale for $163, ended up being ~190 after shipping and taxes. Wait for a 40% off everything sale, then grab them :)
