I use these boots for line clearance tree trimming and haven't found a better pair of boots for the job yet. I'm on my second pair now, the first pair lasted me over two years and still have tread left. Once broken in they great for climbing, heavy duty enough for rough terrain, and completely waterproof. They also have the straight heel that works well with spikes. No offset grommet that ruin other hiking shoes (IMO) to be used for treework. If the price is steering you away I would say they are definitely worth it.
