my favorite casual hiking boots!

i've owned some embarrassing number of hiking boots over the years and these are my faves! they're lightweight, goretex, comfortable and really stylish. perfect for day hikes or around town. the sole / insole is not very thick, so i can really feel the ground, not as pronounced as a five-toed shoe or minimalist trail running shoe, but i prefer that feeling of being connected to the earth. definitely not for serious hikes with a heavy load or super cold weather because they're not padded and leather is pretty flexible. other possible drawback is that the tongue separates from the rest of the boot halfway up, so can't submerge under water all the way. I also own the similarly styled scarpa mojito, and i like these better.
