Appears to be well made

A good quality Euro made boot with a great sole. I feel this could be a 5 star rated boot for those that us it within its designed parameters. For what I was looking for, this boot is not up to the task. The sizing is pretty generous, I wear an 11 or 11.5 in most all Euro and good quality brands made in the Far East. I think a 10.5 may have fit in this boot. It has very little support even when laced correctly from toe up. Maybe this is more noticeable because of the overly generous fit on my boots.

The foot bed is very thin and is the sole. You will feel every rock on the trail. This is good or bad depending upon what you want. The soles are sticky, but not like some Vibram soled approach shoes I own or other hiking boots I have. I slipped a few times when I trusted these to hold. I also , after wearing these a few days did a 5 mile hike, 3 on pavement and 2 on a rocky mountain trail. My feet were so sore I couldn't finish stopping, relacing and massaging my foot.

I think these would be OK as an approach shoe, good for fairly smooth trail hiking and best of all, they look terrific in the urban environment, which maybe is what they really were meant for. In fact they have the serious "outdoor hiker/climber look" without the stiff heavy feel. I've owned over 60 approach, hiking and mountaineering boots over the last 15 years and wear them every day.
