These boots are fantastic, especially if you're looking for, and are used to, lighter footwear. After years of wearing heavy duty backpacking boots (all day, every day) I switched to the opposite end of the spectrum and began wearing barefoot running shoes full-time. Nowadays, my feet feel like giant and cumbersome blocks when I put on even moderately heavy boots, such as my older Asolo TPS-520s. The Cactus are, I think, the best "minimalist" boots one can get. They are very comfortable, plenty supportive (certainly relative to barefoot shoes), and the sole has great traction with good substrate release (i.e., self-cleaning). Two further aspects I really appreciate are (a) the fact that there is minimal stitch work and few pieces composing the uppers, which I think will ultimately translate to good durability; and (b) lacing to the toes, which helps seal the fit. I highly recommend this boot!
