Quality item; mine fit 1/2 size big

I ordered 3 different sizes to make sure at least one pair of these phenomenal boots fit, which are an absurd bargain if you get them further reduced (~$95). I was shocked to find that the smallest of the 3 sizes fit best. I was apprehensive about buying shoes smaller than my current hiking boots and running shoes, but once I compared the stock Asolo sock liner's length to the SOLE Custom Footbeds I was using, I realized the size 9 SOLE was the same length as the Asolo 8.5. I don't plan on doing much climbing or approach climbing in these, so I'm fitting them more for hiking purposes.

The boots required minimal break in. I have used them for 3 wks of mostly peak bagging and day hikes in the Alps and Rockies. I haven't used them in downpour--only a constant rain--but so far my feet have stayed dry. Surprisingly my boots are still orange. Their wet traction could be better in something that is technically an approach shoe but if you want better traction try a better rubber found on 5 Ten or other shoes.

The rear rubber rand is snug on the heel. If you don't have narrow heels it may rub.
